We set off early in the morning, heading south of Cusco towards the province of Acomayo, in the district of Pomacanchi. After around 3 hours on the road, we'll reach the starting point for our hike to Waqra Pukara, a little-known archaeological site that offers a unique immersion in Andean history and nature.
Waqra Pukara can be reached via several trekking trails. Depending on your physical condition and the day's conditions, your guide will choose the most suitable route. On average, it takes around 5 hours' walk to reach this hidden jewel of Peru, offering exceptional views of the Apurímac canyon.
