Dive into the flavors of Peru! You taste various local specialties during a 4-hour gastronomic walk through the streets of Barranco, Lima's most artistic and bohemian neighborhood. Alongside local hosts, you learn how to prepare the famous ceviche and the renowned Pisco Sour, while discovering the history of each dish. Your driver then accompanies you to the airport for your domestic flight. Upon your arrival in Cusco, a transfer drops you off at your hotel.

This first full day in Cusco is left free to allow you to gently acclimatize to the altitude. Stroll through the city at your own pace! We remain, of course, entirely at your disposal to recommend good spots or organize a custom activity if you wish.

Your guide picks you up at the hotel for a bus ride (about 30 minutes) to the charming village of Yuncaypata, perched in the heights. You begin an easy hike, mostly downhill, through Andean rural landscapes. Your goal: the secret ruins of Inkilltambo, a remarkably preserved Inca archaeological site that you explore with your guide. After a soothing picnic surrounded by nature, the walk continues through a beautiful valley before meeting your driver again.

Dive into the heart of the ancient imperial capital to explore its cultural treasures. You start with the majestic Inca temples overlooking the city before wandering through the historic center, where Spanish colonial architecture has grafted itself onto the original Inca foundations. Depending on your interests, we personalize this itinerary to make you experience Cusco differently, strolling through its cobbled streets steeped in history.

Your 3-day trekking adventure begins! From the Tambomachay ruins, you walk 4.5 hours to the Queullacocha pass, enjoying a splendid view of Cusco and the Andes. After lunch at the summit, you continue for 4 hours through Andean pampas and high-altitude lagoons towards Patabamba. Rosalio and his family warmly welcome you there with a pachamanca (a traditional dish cooked underground) for a convivial evening in the heart of the local culture.

After a family breakfast, you resume walking towards the Sacred Valley "balcony," offering a dizzying panorama of the valley and its snow-capped peaks. You cross the Pukamarka pass and then descend to the León Punku canyon for lunch surrounded by spectacular rock formations. In the afternoon, you take an ancient section of the Inca Trail leading to the mysterious ruins of Huchuy Qosqo ("Little Cusco"). You spend the evening at Natividad's home for another human immersion.

Last day of effort: you walk 4 hours from Huchuy Qosqo to the Tauca pass (4,435 m), the highest point of the trek. At the summit, the view of the Urubamba mountain range is spectacular. After a well-deserved break, you hike down for 3 hours towards the Piuray lagoon to reach the village of Chinchero, where you have lunch. The afternoon is free for you to rest with your new host family.

Departure to explore the Sacred Valley! In Chinchero, you attend a fascinating demonstration in a textile workshop revealing ancestral weaving techniques and natural dyes. You then discover Moray, the astonishing amphitheater-like Inca agricultural laboratory, and then the famous Maras salt mines. From these thousands of suspended pools, you start a superb downhill hike to the banks of the Urubamba River. You end the day in Ollantaytambo by exploring its impressive fortress.

You take the road to Huayopata, an enchanting village located on the tropical route to Machu Picchu. Upon your arrival, Julia and her family warmly welcome you. After a traditional lunch, you set off to explore the family coffee and citrus plantations. You learn everything about Peruvian coffee production, from the plant to the cup, and prepare your own beverage. The day ends with a shared family dinner.

After this gentle Amazonian interlude, you begin a beautiful hike along the railway tracks from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes. This 3.5 to 4-hour walk, almost flat, plunges you into the heart of lush vegetation. Pay attention: from certain points on the trail, you can already spot the ruins of the ancient Inca citadel perched above you!

The big day is here! You take the shuttle to climb to the gates of Machu Picchu. Discovering this Wonder of the World, nestled between the Andes and the Amazon rainforest, is an unforgettable moment. Revealed in 1911, the citadel fascinates with its cobbled streets, its temples, and its harmony with nature. After the visit, you walk back down to Aguas Calientes (about a 1.5-hour walk, bus option available on site). You then board the train to Ollantaytambo (1h45), where your driver is waiting to take you back to Cusco.

Take advantage of this last entirely free day to recover from your emotions, stroll through the local markets (like San Pedro), or buy your last Andean craft souvenirs.
