Your adventure begins at the Puerto Bolívar pier (Puerto Maldonado) with a navigation of about 40 minutes on the waters of the Madre de Dios River. You reach the Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge where a seasonal tropical fruit juice is offered as a welcome. After settling in, you set off with your guide for a first walking exploration of the Amazon rainforest on the lodge's 60 preserved hectares, discovering giant trees and medicinal plants. You then visit a traditional camp to understand the artisanal process of rubber (latex) extraction, a historic activity in the region. At nightfall, you board your boat again for a night safari in search of caimans and the animals populating the riverbanks.
