You depart early in the morning heading south of Cusco, towards the Acomayo province. After about 3 hours of a scenic drive, you reach the starting point of your hike to Waqra Pukara. Depending on your physical condition and the day's weather conditions, your guide chooses the most suitable route for this hike of about 5 hours. Although the ascent represents a real physical challenge, the spectacle upon arrival is unforgettable! Perched atop sharp cliffs, this horn-shaped Inca fortress intrigues with its unique architecture. This ancient astronomical observatory, sanctuary, and defensive bastion offers a spectacular plunging view of the Apurímac canyon. After this fascinating exploration, you hike back down to hit the road to the peaceful Cusipata valley.
