Your adventure begins at the Puerto Bolívar pier (Puerto Maldonado) with a navigation of about 40 minutes on the waters of the Madre de Dios River. You reach the Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge where a seasonal tropical fruit juice is offered as a welcome. After settling in, you set off with your guide for a first walking exploration of the Amazon rainforest on the lodge's 60 preserved hectares, discovering giant trees and medicinal plants. You then visit a traditional camp to understand the artisanal process of rubber (latex) extraction, a historic activity in the region. At nightfall, you board your boat again for a night safari in search of caimans and the animals populating the riverbanks.

Accommodation: Night at the Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.

Early wake-up (5:30 am) to the sounds of the jungle! After a tea or coffee, you navigate for 20 minutes before disembarking for a 3 km hike through the lush vegetation of the Tambopata National Reserve. This trail is an opportunity to observe large century-old trees, monkeys (howler, capuchin, squirrel monkeys), and numerous birds. Upon arrival at Sandoval Lake, you board small, silent rowboats to glide over the water in search of giant otters, black caimans, and piranhas. Back at the lodge for lunch, you enjoy some rest time before climbing to the top of an observation tower (20 or 42 meters high) to admire the canopy, the flight of tropical birds, and a magnificent sunset. The day ends with a visit to an Amazon nut gatherers' camp.

Accommodation: Night at the Corto Maltes Amazonía Lodge.

Another early wake-up at 5:30 am to enjoy the morning wildlife activity. After a short 20-minute walk, you reach the parrot clay lick, a mineral clay cliff. There you observe a highly colorful natural spectacle where 3 to 5 different species of parrots and parakeets come to peck at the earth essential for their digestion. After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, you take the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Before your airport transfer, a vehicle takes you for a short immersion in the local market (15 to 20 minutes) to discover exotic fruits, regional products, and the daily life of the Amazonian inhabitants.
