Today's hike will last about 6 hours. Along the way, we’ll discover the beautiful Ausangate lagoons one by one: Azulcocha, Oqécocha, Pucacocha 1 and 2, Alqacocha 1 and 2, and Q'omercocha, each offering unique landscapes and colorful waters.
Throughout the trail, you may see llamas, alpacas, viscachas, various bird species, and with some luck, a condor.
Lunch will be served near the hot springs of Pacchanta. If weather and conditions allow, we’ll enjoy a relaxing soak before heading back to Cusco, with arrival around 7:00 p.m.
Enjoy breakfast in the Andamayo community, where you’ll find many options to taste the flavors of our country.
Savor a traditional dish, Pachamanca: a Peruvian specialty where food is cooked underground with hot stones.
You can enjoy this dish at a viewpoint above a lagoon or in the Pacchanta community during the rainy season.
Dinner included.
We leave early in the morning heading south from Cusco to the province of Acomayo, in the district of Pomacanchi. After about 3 hours of driving, we’ll reach the starting point of our hike to Waqra Pukara, a lesser-known archaeological site offering a unique immersion into Andean history and nature.
