You depart early this morning from Cusco for a unique adventure towards the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Range. This magnificent alternative, much less crowded than the classic Vinicunca mountain, offers you a peaceful discovery of its breathtaking landscapes with red, ochre, and purple hues. Before starting your walk, you make a stop at the spectacular Stone Forest (Bosque de Piedras), a fascinating geological site housing impressive rock formations sculpted by time.
You then begin a superb panoramic hike of about 4 hours, mostly downhill, towards the Andean village of Ananiso. Throughout this wild route, you enjoy grandiose and unobstructed views of the majestic Ausangate glacial range, one of the most sacred and impressive peaks in Peru.
Before arriving in Ananiso, you take a well-deserved break to savor an outdoor lunch, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the fascinating Ananiso canyon, a true geological marvel carved by the river over several million years. At the end of the day, you peacefully walk back up to the village where your private driver awaits you to ensure your return to your hotel in Cusco.
