Itinerary
Embark on a magical hike from the Andean community of Patabamba (3,800 m a.s.l.), crossing breathtaking highland landscapes toward the mysterious ruins of Huchuy Qosqo, a hidden gem in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Take in panoramic views from the Valley Viewpoint, with the towns of Pisac, Calca, and Lamay below and the snowcapped peaks of Pitusiray, Sawasiray, and Veronica in the distance.
Conquer the Pukamarka pass and descend into the striking León Punku canyon, where we’ll enjoy lunch surrounded by ancient rock formations.
The path continues along an original section of the Inca Trail, leading us directly to Huchuy Qosqo (3,600 m a.s.l.), a site steeped in history and mystery.
We’ll end the day with a warm overnight stay at the home of Natividad and her family, offering an authentic Andean experience in the heart of rural Cusco.
Today we reach the highest point of our journey! From Huchuy Qosqo, we hike for 4 hours to the Tauca Pass (4,435 m / 14,550 ft)—the summit of our 3-day adventure. The reward? A breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Urubamba mountain range, dotted with snowcapped peaks and sweeping valleys. After a well-deserved rest at the top, we begin a 3-hour descent toward the beautiful Piuray Lagoon and the traditional village of Chinchero. From Chinchero, we are coming back to Cusco, ending this unforgettable Andean experience.
