Huchuy Qosqo homestay trek: from Patabamba to Chinchero (2 Days)

Day 1 :

Departure for Patabamba, balcony of the Sacred Valley, and arrival in Huchuy Qosqo

This morning, your driver takes you to the Andean community of Patabamba, the starting point of your adventure. From this charming perched village, you begin your hike towards the famous 'balcony' of the Sacred Valley. From there, a spectacular view opens up over the villages of Pisac, Calca, and Lamay, dominated by the majestic Pitusiray, Sawasiray, and Verónica glaciers. The ascent continues towards the Pukamarka pass. Once this challenge is overcome, you descend to the entrance of the León Punku canyon, the ideal place to enjoy your lunch surrounded by nature.
In the afternoon, you cross this spectacular canyon surrounded by amazing rock formations by taking an ancient section of the Inca Trail. This ancestral trail leads you directly to the mysterious ruins of Huchuy Qosqo ('Little Cusco'). You dedicate the end of the day to exploring this site steeped in history before heading to the home of Natividad and her family.

Day 2 :

Crossing the Tauca pass, Piuray lagoon, and end of the trek in Chinchero

The last day of effort is dedicated to crossing the Tauca pass, culminating at 4,435 meters in altitude. It will take you about 4 hours of ascending from Huchuy Qosqo to reach the highest point of this expedition. Once at the summit, you enjoy unique panoramic views over the entire Urubamba mountain range. The spectacle is well worth the effort!
After a well-deserved break at the summit, you begin a 3-hour descent towards the Piuray lagoon to finally reach the Andean village of Chinchero. Upon your arrival, your private vehicle awaits you to ensure your return transfer to Cusco.
