Huchuy Qosqo 3D/2N

We'll pick you up at your hotel and head for Tambomachay, high above the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. After visiting the site, our trekking team will begin a long, gradual ascent of around 4h30 to the Queullacocha pass. Once at the summit, we'll enjoy lunch and a splendid panoramic view of the city of Cusco and its surroundings.

After regaining our strength, we continue with another 4 hours of effort between high plateaus and lagoons to the community of Patabamba. Our friend Rosalio and his family will be waiting for us to eat a tasty “pachamanca”, a traditional Peruvian meal.

Overnight with a local family.

After a hearty breakfast, we'll leave Rosalio's family and begin the day's itinerary, heading for the balcony of the Sacred Valley. We'll overlook a large part of the valley and enjoy the villages of Pisac, Calca and Lamay, as well as the Pitusiray and Sawasiray peaks and the impressive Veronica.

We then tackle the second major challenge of our trek, the Pukamarka pass, which we reach at midday. After crossing this pass, we descend to the entrance of the Leon Punku canyon, where we have lunch.

After a good rest, we cross this sublime canyon on a section of the ancient Inca trail, which we follow to the ruins of Huchuy Qosqo. We spend the afternoon discovering “Little Cusco” in Quechua, before heading to Natividad and her family for a second night's accommodation.

Overnight accommodation with a local family.

For our final day of effort, we'll be heading for the Tauca pass, which reaches an altitude of 4435 m. It will therefore take us around 4 hours from Huchuy Qosqo to reach the highest point of our 3-day adventure. Once at the summit, you'll enjoy unique views of the Urubamba mountain range - the spectacle is worth all the effort!

We'll then take a long break at the summit before embarking on a 3-hour descent to the Piuray lagoon and the village of Chinchero.

Lunch in Chinchero and return to Cusco in the afternoon.
